Wellspring – Spirit
Caring for our Spirits
“Therefore, with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation” Isaiah 12.3
Wellspring community was created with the intention that its members and those whom they engage with may find spiritual blessing and nourishment for their souls, as well as supporting them in caring for their bodies and minds. Alongside the traditional church services, which we invite you to join, we aim to provide opportunities for all of us to grow spiritually.
Opportunities to slow down and be present. To truly be present to the life as it. Cared for and supported in that which is difficult, and having space to truly learn to love that which is good.
Opportunities to share wisdom. To fill one another’s cups, from those words and traditions which have blessed us.
“The wellspring of life is as a flowing brook.” Proverbs 18.4
Opportunities to journey with others. This may not give answers or solutions, but hopeful people to travel with, to celebrate with, to comfort and to encourage.
“I thought faith would say, ‘I’ll take away the pain and discomfort, but what it ended up saying was, ‘I’ll sit with you in it.” Brene Brown
Opportunities to serve others. From Abraham, who entertained angels unawares when he welcomed the stranger, to modern wellbeing teaching the blessings to be found in serving or being served are universally understood.
Wellspring will aim to provide opportunities to serve others, from sharing meals to caring for the young, the old, or the vulnerable.
“What I love about the ministry of Jesus is that he identified the poor as blessed and the rich as needy…and then he went and ministered to them both. This, I think, is the difference between charity and justice. Justice means moving beyond the dichotomy between those who need and those who supply and confronting the frightening and beautiful reality that we desperately need one another.” Rachel Held Evans
Opportunities to celebrate and be thankful. This may be joyous collective celebrations or quietly filling in a gratitude diary.
“Blessed is the one who delights in the Lord. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water.” Psalm 1
